Another Hearth. Act 1. The Question of Violence A Deicider belonging to a fellowship created to hunt the supernatural confronts a monster whose presence threatens a coven of freaks, creatures born of superstition and magic who prey upon an innocent town. In the course of this hunt, he encounters the very being his vocation has prepared him to face all his life: a goddess who has failed her worshipers. A goddess awaiting his judgment. To decide which evil must be destroyed and which may be spared is the burden of every Deicider. For one still wet behind the ears, such judgment can only be learned through experience.
