About

When May Phoenix awakens from cryostasis, she is not greeted with relief, but with crisis. The outpost around her is deteriorating, her memories are fragmented, and she is confronted with the fact that the legendary Aetherians, her very own species, stand on the brink of extinction, poised to vanish from galactic history soon once and for all. Stranded on a forgotten moon beneath a collapsing mountain range, her sole companion is a heavily damaged AI, its memory corrupted and incomplete. Together, they face an impossible array of challenges, ranging from restoring an ancient space station long past its prime and navigating the deadly ambitions of rival civilizations, all the way to striving to reclaim the lost grandeur of the Aetherian Empire. Life support is failing, an unstable antimatter reactor threatens catastrophic meltdown, and powerful empires race to seize the Aetherians’ forgotten technology. Yet May refuses to surrender. As perhaps the last inheritor to a civilization that once ruled thousands of galaxies, armed with fragments of her people’s unrivaled technology and an indomitable will, she is determined to resurrect the Aetherian name and make it feared across the stars once more. Failure would erase the last spark of her civilization. Success would ensure her name and the legacy of the Aetherian Empire will continue to resonate across the galaxy for all time. There will be no other outcome. Either she will succeed or die trying. This story contains from time to time pictures of different scenes. Some of the pictures are drawn by me, while others were created by using an AI. Accordingly, below every picture used in the novel, one can find a short comment if the AI made the picture or if I drew it myself. The cover picture is always drawn by myself.
