About

Kael Arden was never supposed to be extraordinary. In the forest village of Elderglen, strength is measured in useful things: steady hands, sharp eyes, clean footwork, and knowing which boundaries not to cross. Kael has always been good at noticing what others miss. A strange bend of light. A silence where birds should be. A footprint that does not belong. But noticing is not the same as understanding. When Kael’s unusual magic begins answering questions no one else knows how to ask, the quiet world around him starts to widen. Beside him is Mira, his closest friend and the one person willing to move when he hesitates. Together, they train, fail, argue, explore, and learn that power is not something won in a single brilliant moment. It is built slowly, through discipline, trust, and the courage to keep looking when the truth becomes dangerous. Beyond Elderglen’s familiar paths, something is disturbing the forest. Animals flee without reason. Old boundaries no longer feel certain. Signs of human hands appear where no one from the village should have walked. And as Kael and Mira follow the first threads of a mystery older and larger than either of them, they begin to understand a difficult truth: The world does not become safer because you look away. Writers Notes Beyond the Light is a character-driven progression fantasy about earned growth, friendship, mystery, magic, and learning to understand the world before trying to change it. Depending on support, my release schedule will vary. I currently have a backlog of 35 chapters, each anywhere from 2,500 words to 4,000 words. Releasing 5x a week until the first volume is out and going from there is something I wouldn't be opposed to. I always find myself burning through series fast and wishing there were more, so I wanted to make something that I would enjoy reading.  This is my first time doing this, so trying to really nail a style has been hard but a fun journey. I hope you guys enjoy where this journey goes!
