About
Aurora changed everything. Almost a hundred years ago, the aurora borealis turned out to be a System; scanning humanity, rewriting genomes, and slapping stats, skills, and levels onto a species that immediately used them to start new wars. The Hegemony rose from the fallout: a ruling caste that unified Earth at gunpoint and turned Aurora into infrastructure. Now every citizen is conscripted at sixteen, pushed through three years of “safe” Academy training to reach Level 2, then shipped off to Andromeda to fight for humanity against Aurora-enhanced aliens. Kaden Mercer never wanted to change the system. He just doesn’t want to watch another squadmate bleed out because he didn’t know what to do. After a live-fire accident kills a friend in front of him, he switches from Rifleman to Combat Medic and grinds his way to graduation. His reward: assignment to Theta-3, a shock boarding unit on the HIN Valiant. The last Hegemony campaign in Andromeda went bad. Squads died. Battalions shattered. Tens of thousands dead. Theta-3 is what you get when Command scoops up survivors, plugs the gaps with Academy kids, and drops a Shock Leader on top to see if the mix holds. On paper, they’re a precision combat shock team. In reality, they’re one bad breach away from being another line in Aurora’s casualty logs. This story includes a System, but I want the story to focus less on the system and more on Theta. They will have stats, traits, and abilities but I want that to be more flavor and less the focal point of the story. Hello, ImKami! I decided to pick up writing in my free time since I wanted to make some more positive changes in my life. I thoroughly enjoy reading almost any and everything, so I thought what better than trying my hand at sharing that joy with others? Please feel free to message me for whatever reason or leave comments on my story to help me improve as a writer. I will do my best to respond to everyone. Thank you for your time and I look forward to speaking with all of you! I am a new writer (unless you consider building Dungeons and Dragons scenarios writing) so I really do enjoy any criticism that is shared with me. Please do not hesitate <3.
