Do you know what it’s like to get riddled with bullets in broad daylight? On the same day he was supposed to carry out that John Wick mission on them, ironically enough. As he bled out, Giovanni asked any god that would listen for a second chance! He never asked to be a mafioso. He just wanted to live a normal life! Have a wife and kids and be a boring dad who played games, drank beer, and barbecued for the rest of his life! He’d do anything… be anything if it meant he could live again and honor Officer North’s sacrifice for him! But Gio wasn’t religious. He didn’t think any god out there was actually listening to his plea. Right…? And what’d he say again? He’d do and/or be anything? Maybe he was being a bit dramat– NOW BEGINNING TRANSMIGRATION SEQUENCE. Well, you know what they say: “Careful what you wish for!” —————— What to Expect Character-Focus - This story is meant to be relatively light-hearted and easy to read, but there might be a few heavier moments thrown in there from time to time. Kingdom Building - This story follows the MC taking a backwater city in the Chinese-inspired village of Azure Tide from the valleys of the Nameless Frontier to the peaks of the Divine Plane! It’s gonna be a long journey, so strap in! Romance - It’s VERY slow-burn, and it doesn’t occupy much space in the story, but it’s there. If you’re completely averse to all types of romance, this may not be the story for you. Non-Traditional LitRPG System - The Ruler System doesn’t track the MC’s physical attributes but rather his leadership traits. These traits are increased via action and not by spending Renown, the System’s currency. Varying Levels of Action - This is a Slice of Life Kingdom Builder with action, not an Action Story with Slice of Life and Kingdom Builder elements. Some volumes, like the first, will be littered with fights. Others, like the second, will only have a few. The goal is for every fight in this story to mean something… even the face-slapping scenes. Strong Lead - While the MC isn’t the strongest person in the world, the body he transmigrated into was quite powerful. You don’t have to worry about him getting slapped around. ——————— This story will update five times a week, M-F @ 12 PM EST.
