About
The realm believes Robert Baratheon never had a trueborn son. The realm is wrong. Conceived on the first night of Robert and Cersei’s marriage, Julius should have been the first prince of a new dynasty. Instead, his birth was hidden, his death was announced, and an order was given in secret. The child was meant to disappear before he could ever threaten the golden children Cersei would one day place before the Iron Throne. But the man sent to kill him could not bring himself to murder a newborn. Carried across the Narrow Sea and raised in Braavos under another name, Julius grows up with no crown, no house, and no place to call his own. He becomes a prodigy with a sword, a terror with a warhammer, and a young man haunted by questions no one around him is willing to answer. He knows only fragments of the truth: he was born in Westeros, someone powerful wanted him dead, and whatever was stolen from him lies somewhere across the sea. Years later, Julius comes to King’s Landing for a tourney. He does not come to claim a throne. He does not come to accuse a queen. He does not even know what he truly is. Then he steps into the lists before the royal court, and the Seven Kingdoms see a ghost. Robert Baratheon sees the son he never knew he had. Cersei Lannister sees the child she ordered buried. Joffrey sees a threat he cannot understand and cannot bear. Ned Stark sees a mystery that could shatter the realm. And in the shadows, Varys, Littlefinger, Renly, Stannis, and Tywin Lannister begin to understand that one unknown boy may be enough to change the fate of Westeros. Julius wanted only the truth. But in King’s Landing, blood is never just blood, truth is never safe, and a lost son of Robert Baratheon may be more dangerous than any crown he never asked for.
