[Wonnered the RoyalRoad April 2024 Writathon Challenge!] Annie’s whole life revolved around helping her parents make ends meet. That meant multiple jobs, no luxuries, no time for social outings, and no time for hobbies. Annie’s only escape from her tedious and inconsequential life is by playing dating sims, because they were the least time- and effort-intensive games her outdated computer could dependably handle. Then one day, she wakes up in the body of a magical student in a magical boarding school. She has the potential to make a new life for herself, with skills and abilities she had never dared to imagine. Unfortunately, she doesn’t start as far along as she would have preferred.
