Sora Akiyama is the kind of student people forget. Average grades. No grand ambitions. The sort of person who can sit in the front row and still be overlooked. He prefers it that way. Then a Yokai tries to kill him. What should have been a random encounter awakens something impossible inside him: not one Pathway, but two. One lets him slip through the world like a whisper. The other carries a hunger that was never meant to exist. According to every known rule, Sora should already be dead. Instead, he finds himself caught between Kage no Kai, a secret society that protects the Awakened, and Project Kuro, an organization far more interested in using them. As Sora struggles to understand his powers, a more unsettling question begins to emerge. Why did this happen to him? Because the deeper he digs, the more evidence he finds that his Awakening wasn't an accident. Someone expected it. Someone planned for it.
