About

A kid died at thirteen who'd already taught himself the only rule he trusted: caring is dangerous. Hold nothing, want nothing, feel nothing, and nothing can be taken from you again. He'd gotten so good at it that dying barely registered. Then something underneath a broken world caught what was left of him and stitched it into a forgotten stuffed bear — and set him down in the corner of a paradise made of honey, a place built to keep you exactly the way he'd already made himself: warm, still, wanting nothing, forever. It would've been the perfect place to disappear into. Except there's a dying child on the floor beside him, and the System has one instruction: carry her out. Which means doing the one thing he swore off — picking up something he could lose. He names himself Tank. Not the bear everyone loves. The wall he decides, here, to finally be: the one who does not put the small thing down. Because this world is the Bermuda Triangle of the multiverse — where lost things drift, hunted things hide, and the desperate come to disappear. Every story humanity ever set free washed up here and took root: the Hundred Acre Wood he woke in, and past it Wonderland, Neverland, the deep green Jungle — a hundred half-remembered places, every myth we ever stopped owning. And the deeper you go, the more the place wants one thing from you: that you stop. Rest. Go still and sweet and numb, and never leave. They call its frozen heart the Lost, and almost everyone who reaches it disappears on purpose.    Nothing down there is trying to kill him. A Cheshire cat who beat his own pain by feeling nothing at all just wants to teach him the trick. A Queen whose casino-court runs on the warmest, deadliest offer there is — sit down, stay, let the house carry it from here — just wants him to play. The whole world is one kind invitation to quit. Tank won't. He has no fireballs and he can't throw a punch; his magic is the refusal itself. He carries the heavy end. He makes himself the floor a falling thing can't slip past. And here, for the first time, that refusal is something you can build. The System runs on the same primordial alphabet everywhere — Fire, Water, Earth, the base affinities every world is seeded with. But a world has to initialize before any of it goes live: its shared soul wakes, its people ratify the rules their reality will run on, and thirteen towers rise from the ground — thirteen affinity-posts thrown open for anyone with the nerve to climb. This shard finished all of that an age ago — and then something ate it. Half its towers are craters now, rabbit-holes where a god used to stand, and what's left is a strange, sparse hand: Honey, Make-Believe, Nonsense, Fortune — the leftover letters of a world devoured before it finished its sentence. Dark luck for a powerless kid: he washed up in one of the rare old worlds with a System grown all the way up — and then bitten half off. Crack a tower, pry an essence loose, slot it into your soul, and it rolls you a skill — common mostly, rarer sometimes, once in a long while something the System has no easy word for. Stack them, cross affinities, and at an evolution node you climb into a class of your own making: your build, your combo, the one move your whole self was for. Tank starts with one seated stone and a good intention. Everyone tells him that's not a build. He means to climb anyway — and drag a numb, half-eaten world back onto its feet on the way, one refusal to quit at a time.
