He accepts and discovers truths no fiction would dare invent. The gods and goddesses the world worships committed a grave sin and were punished for it by the higher power that gave them life. They were forced into human flesh, stripped of immortality, and made vulnerable to both one another and mortals. To reclaim their lost divinity, they must kill one another and consume the life force left behind. Theirs is a savage war fought in secret across the mortal world, where only the cleverest, strongest, and cruelest of them will survive, while the rest perish forever. But there are rules even to this terrible punishment, and the greatest among them is that no god may slay another directly. They must act through mortals, through servants and chosen blades. That is why Zyphara has made Orin her blade. In an age stripped of gods, one assassin becomes the weapon of a fallen goddess. The Godless Age is a god-slaying progression fantasy without LitRPG, set in a medieval-inspired secondary world that is not rigidly confined to any single medieval period. Expect immersive prose, cinematic action, and a story that takes its time to build properly without feeling either rushed or slow. Also expect a blend of third-person limited and third-person omniscient narration, each placed where it best serves the story. And last but not least, expect magic that is neither scarce nor overdone. The prose in this story is intentionally rich, descriptive, and at times flowery, so a few chapters should be enough to tell whether the style is for you. Posting schedule: The story will launch with 8 chapters upfront, followed by daily updates for the next 14 days. Afterward, it will move to its normal schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday releases. Every chapter exceeds 3,000 words.
