About

Jonah is a failed punk rocker, a failing journalist, and a professional at ruining his own life. Broke, drunk, and late on rent, he gets one last shot at a real story: a young woman has drowned after joining a secretive ocean-worshiping cult with celebrity followers, vanished musicians, and a leader who calls himself the "Voice of the Deep." For Jonah, it looks like the story of a lifetime: the next big Hollywood cult scandal, the piece that could finally drag him out of the gutter. Then Jonah finds the dead girl’s tape. The song on it is ancient, hypnotic, and disturbing. Listening to it gives Jonah visions of drowned cities, black water, and something vast sleeping beneath the Pacific. To expose the cult, Jonah must infiltrate the Children of Sea and Shore and get close to David Fischer, a former music producer turned apocalyptic prophet. But Fischer does not want Jonah dead. He wants Jonah to help finish the song that will wake their elder god sleeping beneath the waves. And by the time Jonah learns the truth, it might be too late.
