The Vine was supposed to connect the world. This one chose to own it instead. For centuries, the Vine, the one willer born with mastery over all four elements, kept balance between nations. Then industry came. Coal, concrete, and smoke choked the sky, and with it came a Vine that chose power over peace. Now a totalitarian government rules in its name, and resistance is just another word for death. Xthon lost his village at seven years old. By eight he was training in exile. By twelve he was running across open air on nothing but compressed pollution and sheer refusal to lose anyone else. He's not looking to be a hero. He just intends to remind the world what the word Vine actually means.
