Five years after his father left, Dean is happy when his mom finally starts dating again. It makes him feel better about applying to far-away colleges; he wants to be a fashion designer, not stuck in his small Midwestern hometown. Unlike his mom, Dean is apathetic toward romance. Few people around him are gay, and even fewer are out, so what’s the point? But right before the start of senior year, Dean meets a totally gorgeous guy at an 18+ gay-friendly club--a shy athlete type who Dean would normally never go for. They hit it off, dance, and end the night with a kiss. But the mystery guy takes off before Dean can get his number. Maybe it was just a one-night kind of thing. At least that’s what Dean thinks, until his mom finally convinces him to meet her boyfriend who just moved to town: Coach Ben Brentski, the new high school wrestling coach. And who walks in behind Coach Brentski? His son, Conner, otherwise known as dance-floor makeout mystery man. And he’s clearly not out to his dad.
