TBOU story The wandering king Ryu finds himself stuck in a troublesome situation with a particular demon. Despite all of his powers, he is unable to track or find the dark creature. So instead, he finds himself someone who could assist him, Markus. Despite the crimes Markus has committed, Ryu believes having him hunt the demon alongside him would be a fair better punishment than rotting in a cell. With that, Markus travels across the countryside of the kingdoms Yharm and Narlis with Ryu, involving themselves with the Guilds and Churchs in the attempts to track down the impossible demon, whom Markus failed to track for ten years. Only to find themselves in a much bigger plot that shows evidence of a Demontide. Dealing with the trauma that befell Markus when he was a child, driven by revenge, yet troubled by the guilt of his crime, Markus will have to navigate this turmoil of horror and face the demons of his past.
